New Appointment

Art+Object are pleased to introduce Kate Lee.  Kate was the successful applicant for the recently advertised Receptionist position.  She is a graduate of the University of Auckland and has a B.A in Art History and Museum Studies.  Kate has recently returned from London where she worked in the Oceania Department of the British Museum.  We are delighted to welcome her into our small team.

The Stock in Trade of David Cook Antiques




Art and Object are pleased to announce the sale of The stock in Trade of David Cook Antiques. 
David Cook  and his son Richard operated one of the most well-known antique dealerships in Auckland  from 1946-1991.Three separate shops on Shortland street  were run by  Richard and David  and during  this time they  made numerous buying  trips to the United Kingdom importing fine quality antique furniture, Asian art and ceramics. The stock has been in storage since the shop closed in 1991.

Our second major art sale of the calendar will take place on August 2nd and will include modern and contemporary 20th and 21st Century paintings alongside our annual photography auction catalogue.  Entries are now invited across the month of June.

Wellington Appraisals

Next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we are in the capital city.  We are there principally to begin the process of valuing the entire fine art collection of the national museum, Te Papa Tongarewa.  However, we will be conducting limited appraisals for our upcoming fine art auction.  Contact Ben Plumbly ben@artandobject.co.nz 021 222 8183 to make an appointment.
