Brian Brake Monograph and Retrospective

As we patiently wait for our own Brian Brake publication to return from the printers (hopefully well in time for our December 9th auction of works from the artist's estate...), we are making our way through the astonishing Athol McCredie editied publication, Brian Brake: Lens on the World. At 333 pages long the lavish publication is unprecedented in its scope and research in showcasing the work of a photographer in this country. Essentially an accompanying publication to the retrospective which opens at Te Papa on the 23rd of October, it features wonderful and illuminating essays by distinguished photography writers including John B. Turner, Damian Skinner, Athol McCredie and others, as well as lavish reproductions of many of Brian Brake's prints, both well known and not so well known. Several of these images will also feature in our own Brian Brake exhibition and auction which will go on view in late November - further details to follow. If you're interested in pre-ordering a copy of our limited edition Brian Brake book please contact leigh@artandobject.co.nz.
