Last Days of Summer - Check out The Darlings

I caught up with Callie Blood the other day. Last time I'd seen her was when she performed at Bayfield School last year to raise funds for the kids. If you're in Auckland Callie is singing with Jackie Clarke and Wayne Bell (The Darlings) at Sale Street each Tuesday through April after their March appearances were so popular. Grab a beer and enjoy the last of summer's evenings.

Invivo launch their Pinot Noir at A+O

Tim and Rob have been slaving over their new Pinot Noir - they've only made 400 cases, Rob had a few sleepless nights ensuring that the wine held in new French oak barrels was just right to bottle. The guys launched the Pinot at the Venice Biennale fundraiser and Important Paintings Auction opening event last Friday. All I can say is, if you see this wine around grab a bottle - if not a case, it's stunning. And more great news for our Wine Partners; Invivo's Sauvignon Blanc which we've been enjoying from last year has been awarded a silver medal in a major wine tasting. (It's on special too at Glengary's $19.90 - damn good)
Congratulations on both counts guys!

Function for the Venice Biennale

ART+OBJECT in association with Creative NZ, warmly invites collectors and supporters of the New Zealand visual arts to A+O on the evening of March 26th to celebrate the representation of New Zealand at the 53rd Venice Biennale by Francis Upritchard and Judy Millar. The function will also coincide with the preview of our first catalogue for 2009, Important New Zealand Paintings and Sculpture. Further to the Venice function, Judy and Francis have both produced major works which will be previewed on the night of the function and auctioned on the evening of the Important Paintings auction on April 2nd. They will be lots 1 and 2 and all proceeds from their sale are to go towards raising funds for their respective Venice projects. The works are both fabulous as is the entire auction catalogue, so please join us! RSVP to sarah.price@creativenz.govt.nz
