Real Art Road Show Book Launch

Last night ART+OBJECT hosted Fiona Campbell's Real Art Road Show book launch at their gallery. A good growd of mostly artists, writers and curators turned up to hear both Fiona and Hamish Keith talk. The book is an impressive volume and a wonderful testament to one of the most original and generous art collection concepts in the country. Be sure to catch the buses at a town near you. Meanwhile the book is now available at all good book stores with proceeds going to keeping the buses on the roads and in schools.

Brochure Out Today!

ART+OBJECT have today posted out their final brochure for 2009 calling for entries for their upcoming sales of Important New Zealand Paintings and Contemporary Art (November 26) and Objects of Desire (December 9th). Gracing the cover (as well as our current homepage) is Pat Hanly's masterpiece, Yellow Jogger from his classic Golden Age series of works, produced in 1981. The work has been in a local private collection since it was acquired by the current owner with some assistance from Rodney Kirk-Smith in the year it was produced. We are offering it with an estimate of $160 000 - $220 000 and expect it to set a new record price for the artist at auction. Final entries for the last major art sale of 2009 are invited over the next couple of weeks.
